Up quite late for us – and Sid and I were first up. Then round to the pool here – the apartment is the only three-bedroomed apartment in a sort of motel – The Lord Byron at Byron bay – and it has a really nice pool, tennis courts, pool table and table tennis so great for the kids. All went for a swim and relax around the pool before packing up to go to the beach. I say packing up, because I’d forgotten that with a nine-year-old and 12-year-old that means cricket gear, footballs and other beach stuff.
The beach was beautiful on the most fantastic of hot, clear, sunny days. So we swam, played beach cricket and football (yes, even I played cricket, but skipped the football, and had an absolutely fantastic day. Writing this on the patio in our private garden at the hotel, as Sid and Dan prepare the bar-b-q in the communal area around the pool. So, must go as I’ve promised to take the kids on at table tennis. More tomorrow.
