Well we arrived back home on Friday and all the flights and travel went very smoothly – no delays, just a rotten overnight flight from Miami but as we’d booked a car to meet us at Heathrow, we were home at midday. Ian and Aga had arranged a ‘welcome home’ lunch for us with Steph and Mum so they were all there when we arrived (well, not Ian he was working but arrived late afternoon, just after Ben who’d taken a half day and driven up from Bournemouth).
So it was lovely to see them all and of course, especially Oscar who we probably wouldn’t have recognised if we’d passed him in the street (babies do change a lot, don’t they). He’s gorgeous. Peggy arrived in the evening and we spent the weekend unpacking (why can’t the contents of two suitcases, that we’d lived out of, fit into a five-bedroomed house? – or on the other hand, do you need a five-bedroomed house if you can live out of two suitcases?). Today was wonderful as Dan, Carole, Jake and Sam spent their last day before returning to Oz, with us.
So glad we overlapped, even by just a day (they’d brought their Christmas trip forward because Carole’s mum is unwell). A lovely day, all together in the garden.
I’ve got a bug (probably from an over air-conned plane and Sid is getting it, so not the best end to such a wonderful trip. But yeh, it was great. Thanks for reading (if you still are!) but a great record for me anyway. Now, I’ll catch up with you all. Oh yes, I better mention Ben’s latest toy: a Lotus Elise
(well, I didn’t want to wait till I was 45 and looked an idiot in it, he said, so I thought I’d get it now!). So, that’s it. Signing off.
