Well, it wasn't cool. A lovely day. We did go out yesterday to Rainbow Bay at Coolongatta where championship surfing competitions are held and it was beautiful. A really nice place with huge beaches and little coves as well. Further along, in Coolangatta itself, there is a really wide, long expanse of beach where the professional beach cricket matches take place -I think it's the 'retired' professionals that play celebrity matches.
Today we totally repacked the suitcases with everything clean -all just as it was whenwe left home - and I've just checked the computer calendar and that was almost seven weeksago. Can't believe that - it's going so quickly. The time in Mudgee has been really relaxing in between the two weekend trips that we did. Sid and I did a few bits of shopping for the next stage of the trip and when the gang came home from school and work, we went to Burleigh Heads so that Jake and Sam could try ou the skimmer boards we'd bought them. They're like small surfboards, but very thin, and they use them to 'skim' along on the shallow water left behind from the waves at the water's edge. Great fun watching, but we didn't have a go as you fall off all over the place and we can do without any 'injuries' for the coming weeks.
Tonight was a 'last supper' bar-b-q with lots of bubbly. We'll be sad to leave them bit it would be much harder if we were leaving them at the end of a holiday. And they're planning to come to England later in the year, so we'll see them soon. We all said that we felt like we'd caught up on the past seven years (and a lot more really!) and bothSid and I got to know Carole better than ever before and she really is a fantastic woman.
